On the evening of November 24th more than forty residents of Tivoli Village met at the Church of the Nazarene on Curry Ford Road for a home owners association meeting and proposed budget vote. Currently the residents of Tivoli Village are not in control of their home owners association. Their community is less than 90% built out meaning responsibility to run the community continues to rest in the hands of the developer Kyle Sanders and the management company Sentry Management.
Residents shared their concerns from the increase in fees to the lack of lowering existing costs. The issue of an increase for the cost of mulch became the hot button example of the night. The largest increase in fees for the proposed 2009 budget is a $35,000 costs for bad debt. Unfortunately for many of the residents in Tivoli Village there are owners that are behind on the home owners association dues and this unexpected cost has limited the actions of the management company. Diane Hilt of Sentry Management assured the board and residents in attendance that all efforts are being taken in recouping some of those lost funds.
After more than an hour of sharing different plans for the future of Tivoli Village the board did agree to two concessions. 1. The board is willing to create a committee to investigate the $95,000 spent on lawn maintenance hoping to find a cost savings. 2. The board understands it must lives up to the excellent standards the residents of Tivoli Village are paying for. Kyle Sanders even supplied his e-mail address and asked that he be included on any issues residents of the community have. His e-mail address is ksanders@hcpland.com.
Residents were also informed that Better Built Homes, the newest builder in the community, has lost its financing and thus stopped in its construction of two building on Biscotti Avenue. The boards hopes are that financing can be acquired soon and the building can continue.
