COMMUNITY MEETING

"HELP!" ... That is what you often hear from the residents of Tivoli Village. It could be because the developer never finished the fence around the community. It could be because of countless parking issues. It could be because our management company doesn't respond to a residents problem in a timely manner. It could be any number of things.

This time it's about a potential cut in community services such as lawn maintenance, insurance, pest control or pool use as a result of too many owners not paying their association fees and our developer/management companies repsonse. Will they cut services or raise our fees another 15% ... or maybe give us a special assessment or begin foreclosure proceedures? We have been asked to supply a list of recommendations to collect the more than $150,000 that is owed and we need your input.

Not all aspects of this meeting will be doom and gloom. We would like to discuss a community wide clean up and our annual summer party, "Sausage Fest." Come to the pool on June 10th @ 7:00 pm to find out more information. If you have any questions beforehand please shoot me an e-mail at beardt@globalcivis.com. See you all next Wednesday.

Unfortunately, I am only a renter in this community, so I have no true voice. I would like to suggest, however, that maybe it would be a good idea for the community to take a poll of the residents who may be willing to step forward to volunteer services (maybe in exchange for dues payments, or at a lower cost than the community is currently paying), i.e. pool services, lawn services, legal services, etc. Additionally, with a $150k+ shortfall in the budget, maybe a short-term solution would be to ask the developer to pay the Association for those remaining items needing to be fixed in exchange for a Release. Estimates could be obtained to ensure the Association is getting the true value of those items, and the Association could then allocate those funds where the need is most critical and fix some of the less critical issues you have mentioned when funds aren't so tight.

I think too much time has passed to let people slide on their HOA payments. It is not fair to the residents that are paying have to face a 15% increase to cover the people who choose to not pay or make payment arrangements. I think foreclosure procedures need to begin....
Thank you.
