Although the "No Parking" signs were installed over the summer our "Bus Parents" have continued to park and block the intersection of Pine Leaf and Econ. Over the last couple of weeks I have personally e-mailed our city commissioner, our mayor and our OPD representative with video of this problem and just today received some news that I wanted to share with you.
The Traffic Division of the city of Orlando have asked us to complete some city paperwork requesting a study of the situation. This doesn't sound like much but it is step one in having speed "humps" installed along Pine Leaf to slow traffic down as well as enforcement of the no parking situation in the front of the community. Officer Malave also let us know OPD officers will be stopping by the intersection to remind our "Bus Parents" about the law and dangers of their violations. If you drive out the north entrance and see parents continuing to block the road PLEASE e-mail the OPD non-emergency line and let them know. The only way to have better patrolling in Tivoli Village is to call and ask for it. Help us help our community.
