On Monday night your transition team met to discuss a variety of community issues. Although we will make some strong recommendations to our H.O.A. & A.R.B., our team carries little to no power in the development outside of the support you the residents give us. Here is a breakdown of the issues discussed and our recommendations:
1. Upcoming Community Events: If people are interested we will have a Halloween costume contest for children under the age of 13 at noon on 10/31; In the spirit of green markets popping up around central Florida we would like to invite all residents to participate in a monthly Community Market to take place from 8 am to 11 am the last Saturday of each month. All residents are invited to sell their goods along the bridge, just bring out a table and get to work.
2. Wish List: Although we have money issues today they will not continue and it is vital that we don't wait to make some long term plans for the community. With that in mind we have created a wish list for Tivoli Village. On the wish list is: Fountains in all 3 lakes, sitting areas around the lakes, bricked encased mailbox areas, lit entrances, better use of the green spaces, tennis courts & e-pass style gate openers.
3. People Conducting Business From Their Homes: We would never try to limit the money making efforts of our residents but conducting business from your homes is a violation of our H.O.A. by-laws and Orlando City Ordinances. We must ask that people stop working on cars in their garages, stop parking their company vehicles in driveways or open spaces and remove any business signs from vehicles. Orlando Police Department and Curtis Security are exempt from these by-laws as they help in the protection of our community.
4. Minor Landscape Changes: Owners in good standing making small landscape changes, including border along walkways, planting areas and trees, should be allowed. As well as a variety of plants should be allowed as long as they do not become overgrown, limit sight lines of neighbors or damage the building structure.
5. Fence Dividers Behind Each Home: We recommend dividers in the back of our homes be allowed as long as they are approved by the A.R.B. and match the approved fence and are installed by the approved company. Fence has been selected but the company has not yet been selected.
6. Curtis Security Proposal: Curtis Security has volunteered to patrol our neighborhood and enforce our H.O.A. by-laws for no charge. We recommend that this service be accepted as well as we impose a new set of parking guidelines. We currently have 185 units in our development, 241 driveway parking spaces and 79 parallel and pool parking spaces. That is 515 potential parking spaces for 185 units. That is 2.78 spaces per each home and the justification for our recommendation. We recommend that on street parking only be allowed on the side of the road with odd numbered addresses. We also recommend that all units be provided with two parking stickers (Curtis will provide this) and a guest hanging tag for free. One additional parking sticker can be purchased for $25.
7. No Fishing Signs: We believe it is great to allow fishing in our community lakes as long as it is not behind homes. We propose moving the no fishing signs to fulfill this recommendation.
8. City of Orlando: We have asked the city of Orlando to conduct a Traffic Calming Study along Pine Leaf Road. We have also begun a campaign to have the city live up to its requirements and enforce city ordinances and have Code Enforcement do its job.
9. Neighborhood Watch: We will be soon announcing our next Neighborhood Watch meeting soon so please pay attention. We are in the need of a few more block captains and will plan our next community walk. Keep a lookout!!!!
10. Pool Area: The motion detector on our outdoor pool area needs to be activated as well as the light on the camera at the pool is out and needs to be repaired. We would also like to add a second deadbolt lock to the pool bathroom doors with only members of Transition Team having the keys. This will allow the doors to be locked at dusk and keep the funky stuff from happening. Finally we would like to have no smoking signs posted around the pool area.
11. Fining Committee Assembled: Owners have volunteered their time to serve on a fining committee and are ready to hear any fining issues that owners may have.
