Congressman Alan Grayson Trying To Help ...

As written on the Channel 9 website ... " U.S. Congressman Alan Grayson met with homeowners in southeast Orlando on Friday night. He told them that the Army Corps of Engineers will get another $1.5 Million to continue to search for bombs in the area that was once the Pinecastle Jeep Bombing Range.
“Every year it’s a struggle to make sure this cleanup gets the priority it deserves,” said Congressman Grayson.
Grayson also told the concerned audience that he’s asking the Corps to come up with a clean list to identify areas that are safe and areas where work remains.
Some people told Eyewitness News they weren’t impressed by the request for that list. Arleyti Ortiz said there’s only one way her fears about the bombs in her neighborhood can be quelled.
“They need to come and search and check the area. Be thorough,” said Ortiz.
The biggest hit in all of this has been to the value of homes in the area. Congressman Grayson said he’s working to get low interest loans for homeowners who are underwater with their mortgage.
One man told us, “We should not have to go borrow $20,000 from the government. Yes that’s wonderful, but that’s not my responsibility.”
