Recently the members of the Tivoli Village transition team met with representatives from Sentry Management, our community management company, and our developer to discuss different strategies in ending the money shortage facing our association while also keeping the process as painless as possible for everyone involved.
In the past this would have required representatives from each side "fighting" for what they believed was best for our community. This has often been the scene for discussions between residents of Tivoli Village and Sentry Management. Among other things, this meeting was held to end that division and to bring sides together in solving this drastic community issue.
The discussion is not over as this money issue if very fluid but the agreed upon plan will go far in beginning the financial healing process of Tivoli Village. After more than two hours of discussion the four pronged plan agreed upon looks like this:
1. Any resident who currently owes money to our association will loose rights to community areas. These community areas include use of the pool, use of the areas around the lake, any on street parking and any parallel parking along the lake. A letter from Sentry Management will be sent to these owners within the next couple of weeks and your transition team has offered to police the situation when appropriate. If you are worried that you may be on this list and you are an owner, please reach out to Sentry and ask for an Accounts Receivable statement.
2. Residents of Tivoli Village may now pay their HOA dues on line for no charge. All you need to do is electronically pay through your own bank using the information on the Sentry Management payment coupon. Be sure to print a receipt of your payment just in case!
3. The process of placing a lien on property and eventually a fore closure will continue to follow the consistent pattern established over the years of Tivoli Villages existence. This procedures places a lien on any property that owes money for roughly more than 90 days. The unfortunate part is we, as a community, will not see this money until properties are sold or foreclosed on by banks.
4. Residents of Tivoli Village will be allowed to pay their HOA fees monthly for no additional charge. This is effective with our next set of payments due July 1st!!
Beyond these very important issues the group also agreed to place the parking amendment on the back burner, send out a summer newsletter and set up our yearly HOA meeting. The date and time of that meeting will come out shortly to stay posted! Sentry Management also informed the transition team of a great savings with our insurance and our lawn maintenance, a savings of more than 90k.
On an editorial note, this was a great meeting of three different concerned parties working together to find a solution to the problem of money and our community. NEVER was there a discussion about a cut in services or a raise in our HOA fees. It was focused on finding a solution for everyone in continuing to make this community as amazing as it can be.
