Our Pool Area
It appears that due to the financial situation of Tivoli Village, our Home Owners Association is forced to raise our fees AGAIN 15% for 2010.
Saturday October 10th members of your Transition Team attended a city sponsored workshop to learn about financial options for home owners associations. Among the many items discussed we learned about two potential solutions to our financial crisis: 1. Renters that live in units where their owners are in arrears can be forced to send their rent checks to our HOA until their debt is paid in full. All this requires is a simple letter from our attorney to the owner. 2. We can foreclose on units in arrears and force those units to be sold at auction. If the units are purchased our lien will be paid in full, if not purchased we can take possession and rent the units keeping all the rent money for our HOA.
To cut expenses we recommend the closing of the pool and preventing all on street parking (not counting deliveries) except for those residents willing to purchase an on street parking pass for $100. This parking pass would allow on street parking on the side of the road with odd numbered addresses.
Through e-mail discussions these ideas have been shared with our HOA president making little headway in avoiding the 15% raise. We ask that all members of our community come together for some honest and open discussion about this situation. Hope to see you all there.

I am not going to be able to attend the meeting. But here is my opinion:
I do not agree with the increase at all!!! Living here keeps getting worse. I have a huge mortgage on my own and on top of that the HOA keeps getting higher. I do pay my HOA dues anyway, so shame on you people not paying! Even when I lost my job, I still paid my dues, so there is no excuse. Those people not paying need to be listed here, so all can see who is ruining our community.
How long does the team propose closing the pool for? Permanently, or just for the winter time?
Thank you.
I completely disagree with the increase of the HOA dues. It's enough of passing somebody else's responsibility onto the other homeowners. Why don't we get rid of the ridiculous amount of money that we pay for landscaping and mulch? If you drive around the neighborhood you can easily notice how horrible most of our lawns are. They cut it too low and they either mulch too much to cover for a dead plant or don't mulch at all.

Hi Alvin,
In case you are not aware...All owners are entitled to the Assesment reports...These reports will give you all the names of owners who are in arrears and how much they owe...Just email Diane Hilt Hicks by law she is required to email them to you within 10 business days....
