Grant money is money granted by governments or companies to help specific organizations or to help specific causes. Each year the city of Orlando hands out grant money to non-profit companies and neighborhood organizations. In the case of Tivoli Village, the city or Orlando is willing to award a matching grant for "physical improvements, public safety, or educational and cultural projects that benefit neighborhood residents. To be awarded the money a resident of our community must attend one meeting and the grant application must be completed by February 11th and most importantly we must select a project on which to work. I propose we create a plan to use vegetation and small fences to close in the three corners of our neighborhood that are open. One is in the north-east corner, along Pineleaf and near the two car garage units. The other two are along either end of the fence on the main entrance on Econ. If we are willing to volunteer some time and labor the city will be more than willing to supply vegetation to be planted. If you are interested in attending a meeting, helping to write the grant application, have a better idea or willing to supply the labor please e-mail us at tivolivillage@blogspot.com or post a comment on this site.
