To the left side of our community newspaper there is a list of community documents that owners and residents alike may like to read. Some of those articles include monthly board of directors meeting reports which detail the financials of our community. Although the reports detail everything in the community including who owes what, I post only the community wide information. No personal information will ever be listed for the public to read.
In looking through the most recent board of directors meeting you would read that our home owners association is owed almost $340k with $285k of that being more than 92 days past due. I do list the amount owed by the top ten offenders on the paper and as of April 30th those owners owe us $121k. Leland Management has begun to implement some of the new Florida statutes to help in collecting these fees but to date that has been less than $500.
I bring this information to everyones attention to remind owners that if we would like to see our monthly dues decrease we must have everyone pay their bills on time as well as collect the money that is owed to us. Everyone in this community is benefiting from the services only some of us are paying for and that is simply not right.
