Intro

Happy 4th!

As we spend time with family & friends, eat some dogs & apple pie and watch some beautiful fireworks lets all be sure to not forget why we celebrate this day and all the men and women who have made sacrifices to allow us to continue to celebrate it.
This holiday is NOT the birthday of the United States as we know it today. It is a reminder of the "date" the Declaration of Independence was signed. This document was a legal justification for our colonies separation from British tyranny. This document was not signed by all on July 4th and did not create the USA of today. It was a document signed by a group of brave men that were committing treason for the greater good of all people in the Americas. They knew there existed inequalities in these thirteen new countries and worked to do something about it.
We celebrate this day as it was the first legal step to the creation of the United States. It led to the Article of Confederation, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. All of these founding documents, created by these founding fathers created a system of government that lacks perfection but allows for a path to that goal. Be proud of our nation, of our leaders and of all the people who have made any sacrifice for it to continue.
