The newest unit of the Better Built Homes, currently being constructed on the East end of Biscotti, has two car garages? I know, I know. I too was in shock to see a two car garage unit in a development with close to 200 units with one car garages. When asked in an e-mail about this situation Kyle Sanders, Tivoli Villages developer and current president of its Home Owners Association responded, "It should increase property values in the community since a home with a two-car garage is generally priced higher than one with a single-car garage. It also would enable them to set themselves apart from all the foreclosure homes in the neighborhood." Continued concerns from residents concerned Mr. Sanders to the point he has scheduled a meeting this Tuesday evening with residents in the community, himself and representatives from Better Built Homes.
Mr. Sanders is correct in that two car garage units sell for more money and that would have a greater effect on the sale on our units when pricing is determined. What he fails to discuss is the difficulty each of us will have in selling our units when in competition with units that have two car garages. As well as the unnatural appearance our community will have with 90% of our units constructed by Cambridge Homes and having the same appearance and the remainder constructed by Better Built Homes and having a variety of looks. This will only have a negative affect on the values of our homes ... and with that bombing ranging looming we don't need anything else lowering our values.
